Resources

There are so many opportunities for our children to achieve great things, participate in sports and live active healthy lives.

This page is where we can all share our resources to finding equipment, grants, and services to help our kids reach their ultimate goals.

Wheelchairs of Hope

MOBILITY & INDEPENDENCE

Wheelchair provision is not only about the wheelchair, which is just a product. Rather, it is about enabling people with disabilities to become mobile, remain healthy and participate fully in community life. A wheelchair is the catalyst to increased independence and social integration.

Wanting to go on family bike rides proved difficult because our daughter could not balance on a trailer bike and was too big to go in the ride along wagon.  We found the Wee Hoo.  Now she has a five point harness, handles on the side to hold on to, and can ride with the rest of us. http://rideweehoo.com

GLASA (Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association)
GLASA is an organization that allows our kids to play sports, water ski, snow ski, participate in bike rides and triathlons.  Their motto is “Let No One Sit On The Sidelines” and the kids and wounded warriors who are part of GLASA are an absolute inspiration to what kids with disabilities really can do.

Lexi’s Closet provides a variety of therapy equipment for children with
special needs. When families seek equipment for their child with special needs,
they are confused by options, brands, styles of apparatus and equipment
available. Our closet gives families a chance to try out what is needed before
an expensive, non-refundable purchase is made.

Lexi’s Closet provides an opportunity for a “test drive” of a special piece
of equipment before making a commitment to purchase it.
