Diagnosis

Those early days of parenting are always a struggle.  Not because of anything in particular, but because the job is difficult and very seldom are you prepared fully for what is ahead.  Add in a diagnosis of special needs, and the train can go quickly off the tracks it was intended for.

With diagnosis comes readjustment, redefinition of what your role is and what you dreamed for your child, and an introduction into a whole new world.  Sometimes diagnosis comes immediately, and sometimes it takes years, but always it is a change.
